Contract: Fixed term until March 2027. Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm on a rota basis. Worker type: Hybrid. Salary: Grade F – £32,597 to £35,412. Location: Highwood House, NG3 4HD.

About the Role

As a Temporary Accommodation Officer you will work as part of a team to provide support and assistance to homeless people living in Nottingham City Council Housing Services’ temporary accommodation. You will help the Temporary Accommodation Manager with day‑to‑day management of sites, collaborate with Housing Solutions and partner agencies and support residents to move on to permanent housing, including preparing clients for successful tenancy sustainment.

  • Experience working with vulnerable groups such as homeless people and refugees.
  • Remain calm and make accurate decisions under pressure, managing challenging situations.
  • Self‑motivation and proactive work with minimal supervision to meet targets.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Firm yet considerate management of non‑engaging clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to present information clearly.

  • Completion of a Basic DBS check is required.
