About the Role
SHEQ Services are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an ambitious and innovative team. The team has a central role for Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality within the Resident Services division comprising: Highways Services, Waste & Cleansing, Green Spaces and Depots & Fleet. This post offers the opportunity leading for Highways, focusing on CDM. There is the requirement to work alongside the SHEQ Lead (Operations) providing support for the other service areas.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support an ambitious and innovative team. Highways has a pivotal role in delivering transport projects that support the delivery of the Council’s Carbon Neutral 2028 Plan and other economic and environmental strategies. The post offers the opportunity to be a technical specialist safeguarding the delivery of innovative highway schemes across Nottingham, with an estimated turnover of £20 million per annum.
The SHEQ Lead for Highways will work with service managers and site teams to ensure primarily that CDM requirements are met for all projects. In addition, there will be the expectation to work collaboratively with teams and further maintain, develop and improve safety culture and operational approach to achieve best in class standards in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance across the service.
Although this role is Monday – Friday, there is an opportunity due to the nature of project work that Highways undertake for weekend working of which the relevant remuneration would be in addition to the salary of the post.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety or demonstrated significant equivalent experience
- Significant experience of providing expert health and safety leadership across a broad range of construction related Health and Safety issues and CDM 2015 matters.
- Experience in the provision of CDM 2015 management and construction specific (practical and technical) health and safety advice
- Highly developed risk assessment, auditing, inspection and investigation skills
- Strong organisational & communication skills with a high level of influencing and inter-personal skills
- Ability to instigate, manage, communicate and drive positive service change
- Experience of working with ISO Management Systems
