  • Week 1: Monday: 10:00 – 18:00, Tuesday: 10:00 – 16:30, Wednesday: 10:30 – 19:00, Thursday: 08:30 – 16:30, Friday: 08:30 – 16:30, Saturday: Non‑workday, Sunday: Non‑workday.
  • Week 2: Monday: 10:00 – 18:00, Tuesday: 10:00 – 18:00, Wednesday: 08:30 – 17:00, Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00, Friday: Non‑workday, Saturday: 09:30 – 16:00, Sunday: Non‑workday.

Salary: Starting salary is £26,824 (£13.90/hour) for level 1 and rises to £27,254 (£14.13/hour) on the first‑year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time) (pay award pending).

About the Role

Senior Library Customer Advisor – based at Nottingham Central Library. The key responsibilities include planning and leading children’s events or activities, assisting users with applications or book selections, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. The role involves managing a small team of up to five staff, leading and supporting the delivery of arts, cultural and learning services, and continually improving library services.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience, managing projects or small teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver high‑level customer service to a diverse range of citizens.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Experience delivering events or activities for children and young adults.
  • Strong organisational, multitasking and prioritising skills.
  • DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required.
