Retail Assistant – Casual at Nottingham City Council
Location: Woodthorpe Park Plant Shop, Woodthorpe Drive, Sherwood, Nottingham. NG54HA
Contract Type: Casual
Working Hours: Shifts available Monday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm
Worker Type: On-Site Worker
Salary: Starting Salary is £24,413 – £25,185 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (£12.65 per hour +12.05% holiday pay accrual per hour)
We are looking for people to join the Plant Shop team who can provide high quality customer care by serving and advising customers in the shop and at events.
Responsibilities
- Provide front-line service by serving and advising customers in the shop.
- Maintain a consistently well-presented facility by keeping the retail areas clean and tidy.
- Operate a till, handle cash and take credit card payments in line with Nottingham City Council’s financial regulations.
- Assist with basic administration tasks and complete daily records.
- Provide general information and convey knowledge of horticultural techniques and plants.
- Adhere to all health and safety, hygiene and security policies.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Knowledge of horticultural techniques and plants
- Experience of using tills and handling cash and card payments
- Willingness to work weekends
- Van driving experience is useful but not essential
