Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week. 8.45am to 4.45pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Approximately 12 weekends (Saturdays, Sundays, Bank Holidays) are required to be worked as well with time given off in lieu.

About the Role:

  • One 12 month Fixed Term, Part time (3 day) Post is available.
  • We are seeking highly motivated and professional applicants with excellent levels of customer service experience, strong administration, numeracy and IT skills.
  • The role involves registering births and deaths, notices of marriages and civil partnerships by appointment, administration work, and conducting or registering marriages and civil partnerships.
  • Applicants will be expected to learn a variety of working systems, be highly accurate in spelling, numeracy and comprehend legislative regulations.
  • When working on events or ceremonies, hours of work will be flexible, depending on the event.
  • The role is based at the Council House but requires travelling to licensed sites within Nottingham City boundaries.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers.
  • Can demonstrate excellent IT skills.
  • Be able to spell accurately and clearly.
  • Proven experience in being organised at work and meeting deadlines.
  • Be flexible, resilient and willing for personal and professional development.
  • Proven experience of understanding and applying complex regulations and procedures.

This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post. The role requires you to participate in the on-call rota.
