The predicted salary is between 32597 - 35412 £ per year.

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Full-time, variable hours normally between 8:00am and 4:00pm, subject to service needs.

Worker Type: Hybrid

Salary: £32,597 (Level 1) rising to £35,412 (Level 4) per annum, pro rata for part-time (pay award pending).

Location: Primarily home‑based with required attendance at Council sites, meetings, site visits, training, conferences and other in‑person events.

About The Role

We are recruiting 2 permanent Project Officer posts in the Innovation and Change Team within Parking Services. These roles support project delivery across a varied portfolio, including parking operations, Workplace Parking Levy, Corporate Vehicle Hire, Parking Regulation and compliance, and strategic delivery activity. The Project Officers will help to provide capacity for service continuity, governance, financial stewardship, risk management and delivery of agreed priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects across the Parking Services portfolio.
  • Turn ideas and priorities into structured work packages and help colleagues deliver change in a clear, organised, and practical manner.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of service improvement and change projects; prepare project documents, briefs, action logs, reports and updates.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, issues, actions and benefits; use data, evidence and feedback to support decision‑making.
  • Support meetings, workshops and project discussions; gather information from and solve problems with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Help ensure projects are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality expectations.

About You

  • Experience in supporting or delivering projects, service improvement or change activity.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of clear documents and reports.
  • Capability to work with colleagues, stakeholders or partners to progress actions and resolve issues.
  • Ability to use information, data or evidence to support problem‑solving and decision‑making.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to inclusive and customer‑focused service delivery.

Experience in local government, parking, transport, regulation, compliance, customer services, business improvement or project management methodology would be helpful, but is not essential.
