Head of Inclusive Learning

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Children's and Education Services Senior Leadership Team as our new Head of Inclusive Learning.

This is a pivotal role with responsibility for providing strategic leadership and direction across Nottingham's inclusion, attendance, children missing education and fair access services. You will lead the development and delivery of ambitious strategies that ensure every child and young person, regardless of their circumstances, has access to high-quality education and the support they need to succeed.

Working closely with schools, academies, early years settings and a wide range of partners, you will champion inclusive practice across the city, driving improvements in attendance, reducing barriers to learning and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people. You will play a key role in shaping and translating national policy, legislation and statutory guidance into effective local practice, ensuring services remain responsive, innovative and focused on meeting the needs of Nottingham's children and families.

As a member of the Children's and Education Services Senior Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively across the Council and with education, health, social care and voluntary sector partners to deliver joined-up services and drive continuous improvement. You will lead high-performing teams, develop strong partnerships and ensure that services are child-centred, outcome-focused and deliver value for money.

We are looking for an experienced and influential leader with a passion for inclusion and improving educational outcomes. You will combine strategic vision with strong partnership working skills, using innovation and evidence-based practice to help create an education system where every child can thrive, achieve and reach their full potential.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate professional qualification as a qualified and registered Social Worker.
  • Significant leadership experience within education, inclusion or children's services.
  • Strong knowledge of education legislation, safeguarding and statutory duties within a local authority context.
  • A proven track record of developing partnerships, leading service improvement and delivering positive outcomes for children and families.
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) would be desirable.
  • The closing date for applications is 23:59 on Thursday 12th November
