As Head of Children's & Education Services Transformation, you will play a critical leadership role in driving Nottingham's ambition to deliver outstanding services for children, young people and families.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead strategic transformation and improvement across Children's and Education Services, working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to design and deliver innovative, high-quality services that improve outcomes and life chances. You will help shape the future direction of services, ensuring they remain responsive, sustainable and aligned to the Council's vision, priorities and statutory responsibilities.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a broad portfolio of transformation and improvement activity across social care, family help, education, SEND and wider children's services. You will drive the delivery of strategic programmes that reshape services, improve performance, strengthen practice and ensure resources are focused where they have the greatest impact on children, young people and families.
We are looking for an outstanding senior leader with a proven track record of delivering large-scale transformation, organisational redesign and service improvement within children's services, education, adult social care or other complex public sector environments. Candidates may also bring relevant experience from wider public services, consultancy or transformation-focused leadership roles within large and complex organisations.
You will bring significant experience of operating at a senior leadership level, with the credibility and influence to work effectively across organisational boundaries and deliver sustainable change through collaboration, partnership and innovation. You will be confident leading programmes of change in environments that are ambitious, fast paced and focused on continuous improvement.
You will be comfortable operating within a complex political environment, providing strategic advice and challenge to senior leaders and elected members while maintaining a relentless focus on achieving better outcomes for children, young people and families. You will bring strong commercial awareness, financial acumen and experience of delivering transformation programmes that achieve measurable benefits, improved performance and value for money. You will understand how to balance innovation with sustainability, ensuring that services are effective, efficient and responsive to the changing needs of children and families.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, with relevant experience gained within a leadership role in a similar environment. A professional qualification in programme management, transformation, change management or business improvement would be desirable.
With exceptional leadership, communication and partnership-building skills, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and innovation. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to ensuring children, young people and families receive the support they need to thrive now and in the future.
