Nottingham City Council is looking for four enthusiastic Service Desk Analysts to join our busy and friendly IT Service team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. If you love helping people, solving technical challenges, and working in a collaborative environment, this is a great opportunity to make an impact while building your IT career.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for IT incidents and service requests—by phone, email, or face‑to‑face.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues quickly and professionally.
  • Escalating complex problems when needed and keeping customers informed every step of the way.
  • Supporting and maintaining systems across the Council, ensuring smooth operations for our teams.
  • Sharing ideas for process improvements and contributing to our IT knowledge base.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in an IT Service Desk or customer support role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix, VMware, etc.).
  • Great communication skills—calm, clear, and customer‑focused.
