Contract Type: We have both a permanent vacancy and a fixed-term/secondment opportunity until 31st March 2027.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday

About the Role
As a HomeLink Support Officer within Nottingham City Council Housing Services, you will support vulnerable residents in accessing social housing through the HomeLink Choice Based Lettings scheme. The role focuses on delivering person-centred advice and practical assistance to customers with complex housing needs, including those with medical or social challenges.
You will work directly with individuals in their homes, identifying barriers to accessing suitable housing and offering tailored support or referrals to relevant services. With a strong focus on early intervention, you will proactively identify and assist those at risk of exclusion from housing services, helping to ensure they are empowered to make informed housing decisions.
Your responsibilities include assessing applications for priority rehousing, offering housing-related advice, and working in partnership with statutory, voluntary and community organisations. You will also be the key contact for care-leavers referred by Children’s Services, supporting their transition into secure and appropriate accommodation.
About You / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Substantial experience of working within a housing management environment and an ability to learn.
- A working knowledge of current housing issues and legislation, including Allocations, Tenancy Management and Welfare Benefits.
- Experience working in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion for the workforce and Nottingham\’s residents.
- The ability to remain calm and make accurate and timely decisions under pressure, including handling challenging situations.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
