We’re looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our Corporate Team on a fixed term contract to help back fill maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to build experience working in the public sector and join our friendly and dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, part of a wider People Services Team awarded PPMA Public Sector Team of the Year in 2021.

About the Role

The Corporate HS&W Advisor role involves working directly with a range of services within LCC. You will carry out health and safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations across our sites and will provide advice to managers within dedicated departments to undertake their health and safety duties and responsibilities. You will also be involved in exciting project work such as developing and delivering health and safety training, health and safety campaigns, implementation of the Council’s health and safety management system and updating policies and documentation. You will be supported by a Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor and the Corporate Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, along with a team of other advisors. The service, which is ISO45001 certified, sits within People Services, winners PPMA Public Sector Team of the Year Award 2021, meaning we work closely with Human Resources, Organisational Development and Learning and Development teams. The corporate and traded teams work closely together creating a supportive environment for staff to develop their knowledge and experience from each other. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your expertise through exposure to a broad range of work and a variety of work environments and challenges.
