The Appointeeship and Deputyship team is looking for two new Case Officer colleagues to join our team in supporting vulnerable adults who lack the mental capacity to manage their own finances.

This role would particularly suit those from a banking, or benefits background, but we are interested in hearing from anybody who can demonstrate a passion for problem-solving, excellent attention to detail and experience of managing a client caseload.

About The Role

Our Case Officers safeguard the financial wellbeing of some of our most vulnerable service users, helping them maintain as much independence as possible by:

  • Managing day-to-day finances, from paying bills to selling property.
  • Acting as a Corporate Appointee - ensuring clients receive their full benefit entitlements.
  • Negotiating with external organisations like utility providers, care providers, landlords and other local authorities.
  • Submitting detailed financial reports to the Office of the Public Guardian.
  • Keeping accurate records and case notes.
  • Playing a key role in ensuring our clients have the best quality of life that they can afford.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About You

We would like you to be able to demonstrate the following qualities, skills and experience:

  • Experience in managing client caseloads
  • Professional curiosity and practical problem-solving abilities
  • Experience of using financial and data management systems
  • Knowledge of Welfare Benefits and adult social care
  • High standards of both written and verbal communication
  • Experience of working independently, with integrity and accountability, under minimal supervision

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability. We are a Disability Confident Employer.
