About the role
We’ve got an exciting opportunity available for talented individuals to join our Children in Care workforce. Nottingham City Council recognises that a new Social Work position is an important step in a career, and we aim to make the transition positive. As a Children in Care Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in shaping brighter futures, helping children and families navigate challenges and providing them with opportunities they deserve. You’ll advocate for change and work to make a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most. Working in Children in Care provides a chance to support children throughout their time in care. With the support of a dedicated management team, you will help children be happy, healthy and achieve their best in loving and supportive homes. You will work to progress Children’s plans and achieve permanency for all children, and you will support children as they prepare for adulthood with good plans and the right skills to take the next step into adulthood.

Qualifications
- Professional Social Work Qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Direct experience working with children in a childcare setting
- Full driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel inside and outside the council area as required
- Excellent communication skills to support internal and multi-agency working relationships
- DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required
