About the Role
Are you an experienced, passionate, and confident practitioner with the tenacity and resilience to support, challenge, and motivate a multi‑agency workforce? Do you have a strong understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and the ability to navigate and work effectively within school systems, processes, and statutory frameworks? We are looking for a child‑focused, trauma‑informed, inclusive approach and an ability to work confidently within school processes such as safeguarding pathways, pastoral systems, attendance procedures, and SEND support mechanisms. Your role will support and empower partners and colleagues to deliver robust, high‑quality Early Help for children, young people, and families.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. social care, health or childcare, OR substantial experience in providing direct support to families that clearly demonstrates the experience, skills, competencies and knowledge outlined below.
- Have experience of working with partners and of co-ordinating agency responses in complex cases to achieve positive outcomes for families with complex needs.
- Possess knowledge and awareness of issues which may have an impact on the lives of families such as domestic violence and abuse, mental health difficulties, substance misuse, poverty, housing. To include an understanding of, and compliance with, information sharing protocols and confidentiality.
- Have a good knowledge of child development and of interventions that promote children’s learning and development and an understanding of issues relating to school readiness, transitions and school attendance.
- Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues from a range of agencies to work together in the best interests of families, service providers and the wider community.
- Proven ability to recognise Child Protection issues and Safeguarding practice.
- Have an understanding of, and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
