An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Permanent Team Manager post to work in the Adult Social Care Young Adults Disability (YAD) Team within the current management team. The successful applicant will work with our existing and established management structure within the YAD. There is a current full-time manager in post, and you would share the responsibility for overall management and service development and delivery. The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive knowledge of working in an Adult Social Care setting especially to support young people aged 16 plus as part of their preparation for adulthood.
Responsibilities
- To improve outcomes for people by ensuring that staff can provide good outcomes for people by implementing the departments operating model and ways of working to deliver social care.
- To provide technical and professional support to team members.
- To improve ways of working for staff by supporting and implementing improved working between team, children’s services and partner agencies with an MDT focus.
- To manage staffing budgets and staff performance using departmental and corporate policies ensuring effective and efficient team capacity, capability and delivery.
- To ensure the effective management of team performance and resources.
- To provide performance and delivery reports to Strategic Service Managers and HOS.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent management experience.
- Have substantial adult social care experience and knowledge of The Care Act 2014.
- Significant experience in people and performance management.
- Have experience in successfully prioritising between competing service demands.
- Understand partnership pressures and interdependencies relative to service area.
- Partnership/MDT working with representative citizens and carers to identify service and support solutions.
- Be able to develop trust within the team and encourage team members to build positive, trusting relationships with each other, across departments and with customers, service users, partners and/or the community as appropriate.
We’d also expect you to share our commitment to our values and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the interview process. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
