Rate: £17.50 per hour

Hours: 30.5 hours per week to be split between 2 PAs

Contract: Self-Employed, Permanent

Support is required from two female Personal Assistants to help an individual to remain as independent as possible, meet their care and support needs, and to encourage them to complete tasks where possible.

Role Requirements

You will be required to provide support with:

  • personal care – showering daily (this person is able to physically shower however due to falls risk this person requires someone to be in the property when showering)
  • applying creams, 2-4 times a day, to their whole body
  • ensuring clean clothing is worn due to episodes of incontinence
  • laundry tasks as needed, including changing the bed
  • meal planning – preparation (could batch cook) and to support with food choices to maintain a healthy and nutritional diet
  • weekly shopping
  • light domestic tasks
  • social support of 4 hours per week – visits to the hairdressers and window shopping at places like Beaumont Leys or Fosse Park

Two Personal Assistants would be preferred to cover the following hours to ensure continuity of care for annual leave and sickness:

  • Daily support – AM one hour, Lunch one hour, Tea 45 minutes and PM 45 minutes
  • Shopping – 2 hours per week
  • Social Support – 4 hours pr week

Please note the above is a guide only and the hours can be altered and used flexibly to meet needs appropriately.

Female PAs are required due to the provision of personal care support.

The client has been disagnosed with:

  • a skin condition that makes skin very sore and at risk of infection, requires creams to be applied 2-4 times per day
  • dementia (Alzheimer’s disease)
  • falls
  • chronic kidney disease stage 4
  • past fracture of humerus
  • depressive disorder
  • heart failure
  • essential hypertension

They are hard of hearing and can only walk for short distances.

The client enjoys:

  • jigsaw puzzles and sudoku
  • going to the hairdressers
  • visiting local shopping centres
