About the Role

Leadership skills are essential to help support a small team and excellent time management skills to manage service outputs in a busy environment. The team is required to fulfill statutory bereavement duties, including compliant administration of cremation and burial processes and accurate maintenance of required records. Collaboration with the wider service, colleagues and citizens to ensure the service is delivered in line with the service vision is crucial. Change and innovation experience is needed to help progress the service improvements within the team. The office deals with a range of colleagues and citizens, so the ability to be inclusive in service delivery and team supervision is important. The role is varied, so experience in finance and IT literacy are valuable skills.

About You

  • Previous experience of leading a team or project, delegating tasks, monitoring team performance, assisting team training and development.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to develop service specific IT software packages including case and document management systems to suit requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers including vulnerable citizens and their families.
  • Highly developed organisational and administrative skills.
  • Effectively managing team tasks and projects.
  • Handling urgent situations effectively and meeting tight deadlines, focusing on customer service excellence.
  • Demonstrating personal commitment to the equality, diversity and inclusion challenges faced by our workforce and Nottingham’s people.
  • Advanced understanding of business systems and administrative activities, with the ability to assist in monitoring budgets and providing financial data.
