About the Role
To work as a Homeless Prevention Advisor for young people who are in care and on a transition plan towards Leaving Care, who are not ready for independent living or Care Leavers at risk of becoming homeless. The post holder will work alongside Senior Personal Advisor to identify those who are at risk of not having or losing their accommodation and will offer advice, guidance, and direct support to prevent homelessness. Knowledge around Housing/homelessness guidelines and legislation is required.
To contribute to the assessment process and implementation of Pathway Planning for Children in Care and Care Leavers.
Post holders will carry case-holding/co working responsibility as appropriate and support Children in Care and Care Leavers within and outside of the City Boundary.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
· Knowledge of homelessness legislation
· Experience of working in the housing sector
· Experience of working with vulnerable young people or client groups at risk of homelessness
· Experience of working to timescales under pressure
- Experience of maintaining accurate and up to date recording systems
- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post
