Salary: Starting Salary is £28,598 (Level one) rising to £31,022 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (pay award pending)

About the Role

To provide travel training for people with special needs and disabilities, travelling between their home address and education / employment / day care. The aim of the post is to reduce dependence on expensive specialist transport to Special Educational needs schools and to Day Centres and other facilities, whilst enabling children and young adults with disabilities to achieve more independence in the community. It will be achieved by providing a package of information, ticketing and travel training products, and should enable citizens to remain in education for longer, or sustain employment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of, and be sensitive to, the needs and issues facing people of all ages with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Knowledge of travel training and wider transport issues
  • Full knowledge of Safeguarding and Health & Safety procedure
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people in a courteous and efficient manner in person, and in writing
  • Experience of working with children and adults with special educational needs

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
