About the Role:
- To promote the Council’s vision, values, aims, objectives, and priorities actively and effectively, putting our citizens first through the delivery of best value services.
- To act as a key worker and Lead Professional for children, young people, and families with a range of needs.
- To facilitate Early Help Assessments and plans, deliver appropriate interventions, and coordinate interventions delivered by other agencies.
- Supporting children subject to Team around the Family, Child Protection, Child in Need, and Youth Justice Plans.
- To support and offer professional challenge to agencies and families to bring about lasting change, increase the resilience of the family, and decrease dependencies on public services.
- You will deliver quality personal and social development interventions for children and families and support young people 0-19, to move successfully through education into adulthood through targeted interventions.
- Daily travel within and around the city is a key expectation of this role, including approximately 12 visits per week to family homes and schools, as well as travel to team meetings and training sessions as required.
About You:
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, Childcare, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, young people, or families and knowledge of local services and referral pathways.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- Familiarity with multi-agency working (e.g. social services, schools, NHS).
- Strong communication and listening skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with families.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills along with organisational and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with understanding of child development and parenting challenges.
- Awareness of social issues affecting families (e.g. poverty, domestic abuse, mental health).
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post. The role requires you to participate in the on-call rota.
