Salary: £28,605 - £31,029 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

Working Hours: 15 Hours per week

This post operates on a 4 week rota including 1 Saturday per month:

  • Week 1 - Mon (9am-1pm) Tues (9am-5pm) Sat (9am-2pm)
  • Week 2 - Mon (9am-1pm) Tues (9am-5pm) Wed (10am-1pm)
  • Week 3 - Mon (9am-1pm) Tues (9am-5pm) Wed (10am-1pm)
  • Week 4 - Mon (9am-1pm) Tues (9am-5pm) Wed (10am-1pm)

About the Role

Leicestershire libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing information and advice, activities to improve wellbeing and develop skills, supporting those seeking employment, and sharing a love of reading with people of all ages. As a Library Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high-quality customer-focused service through the management of a team of Library Services Assistants, Mobile Library Drivers, and volunteers. You will ensure that team members are kept well informed and that they have the necessary skills to provide a welcoming and efficient frontline service to customers. You will manage room bookings and use of the venue, promote and deliver campaigns and other services aligned with the annual service plan, and ensure that the library sites remain attractive and well presented. You will also be responsible for collating statistical, financial, and other data to provide accurate information for service planning and monitoring.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have experience of working in a customer service environment.
  • Have knowledge of health and safety and general data protection regulations.
  • Be able to manage your own time effectively and to work on your own initiative.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with others, including conflict resolution.
  • Be able to plan and prioritise your work.
  • Have IT skills and be able to collate information and data.
  • Be able to travel around the county in a cost-effective manner.
