About the Role

By joining ESPO’s Marketing team as a Marketing Officer, you’ll be part of a highly successful professional buying organisation that provides cost effective procurement and supply services to the public sector. ESPO is owned and governed by a consortium of six local authority members based in the East Midlands, with Leicestershire County Council acting as the employer. From promoting our inspiring My School Fund initiative to growing the ESPO International brand and showcasing our Smart Solutions offering, no two days will be the same. You’ll work across a varied portfolio of brands, creating engaging content and campaigns that make an impact. You’ll collaborate closely with Marketing colleagues and our Business Development team, bringing fresh ideas, creativity, and energy to everything you do. Whether it’s digital campaigns, PR, events, or traditional marketing, you’ll know how to plan and deliver activity that gets results on time and within budget.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A flair for content creation and storytelling
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence managing multiple projects and brands
  • Experience across online, offline, PR, and event marketing
  • A hands-on, proactive attitude and a passion for creative marketing

Experience in charity or B2C marketing could be a bonus, but what matters most is your attitude, creativity, and ability to connect with audiences. If you’re dynamic, imaginative, full of ideas, and ready to bring real energy to a role where you can make a difference, get in touch. Some flexibility to work outside of normal working hours will be required and you must have access to a vehicle to travel to locations throughout the region.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • A recognised marketing qualification such as a CIM diploma or equivalent
  • Experience of planning and executing marketing activities
  • Experience of working within a cross functional team
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to peers, colleagues, customers and other partners/stakeholders
  • Familiarity of using email software such as DotDigital or Klaviyo and CMS platforms such as Magento or Word Press
  • A flair for creating engaging content for external audiences
  • Proven and demonstrable knowledge of working with and utilising social media
  • A can-do approach to working, inspiring others with your enthusiasm and drive for success
