About the Role

The Employee Service Centre (ESC) is looking to appoint an Administrator to provide efficient, high-quality administrative support, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of services to customers. Forming part of East Midlands Shared Services (EMSS), the ESC is a dynamic and fast-paced service providing transactional Payroll and HR Administration services for our partners, Nottingham City Council & Leicestershire County Council, along with some external customers.

If variety is what you are looking for then, no two days are the same in the ESC, as there is always something to focus on. The ESC completes over 40,000 payments each month, handles over 150 adverts each month, produces over 3,000 contractual documents and handles more than 2,000 queries each month.

As an Administrator on our Service & HR Administration team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the customer journey by providing efficient support to employees, managers and various customers in Leicestershire County Council, Nottingham City Council and other partner organisations on a wide range of HR Policy and Payroll related queries. You will also be responsible for issuing contractual documents and will work to agreed processes and performance guidelines. This post is currently a temporary contract to cover a secondment for 7 months.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification Or Equivalent level of relevant experience.
  • Have clear and concise written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a good attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Have a strong understanding of customer service and care standards.
  • Have excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload with a proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of current HR, payroll and pension regulations.
  • Be competent in the use of ICT systems, including Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have the ability to quickly learn and understand our Ticket Management and Oracle Fusion ERP systems.
  • Be able to manage, safely and appropriately, the handling, processing and disposal of information and data both physical and electronic.
  • Operating data quality management processes and maintaining a good awareness of relevant legislation, such as General Data Protection Regulations (2018) and Freedom of Information Act.
