About the Role
Nottingham City Council is seeking a skilled and reliable Class 2 LGV Driver to join our Parking Enforcement team at the Nottingham Vehicle Pound. This is a key role in supporting the free flow of traffic across the city by safely removing vehicles in contravention of parking regulations or on behalf of the DVLA and Abandoned vehicles
You will be based at the Parking Enforcement Pound and deployed across Nottingham to operate a HIAB-equipped LGV vehicle. This role is essential in maintaining road safety and accessibility for all.
About You
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Class 2 HIAB vehicles and lifting equipment.
- Remove vehicles safely and transport them to designated locations.
- Conduct daily vehicle walkaround and equipment checks, ensuring cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Complete all required paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Interact with members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work flexibly across various shifts and locations within the city.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) LGV license.
- Experience operating large vehicles and lifting equipment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
- A DBS basic check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
