About the Role

As a Business Support Assistant, you will help the Crisis and Resilience service run smoothly. You will support the team by dealing with phone calls, emails and paperwork. You will often be one of the first people that members of the public or partner organisations speak to. Your role is to help manage referrals that come into the service. This means checking information, setting up customer records, and making sure referrals are sent to the right team or organisation. You will follow clear steps and record information accurately so people can get the help they need. You will also provide general admin support. This includes sending letters and emails, updating task lists, helping partners with system access, and keeping records up to date. At times, you may help with welcoming visitors, arranging meetings, opening post and ordering office supplies. You will work as part of a team and support colleagues when needed. This is a busy role that suits someone who is organised, friendly and comfortable helping people, often during stressful situations. A standard DBS check is required for this post.

About You

  • Be able to follow instructions and work in an organised manner, being able to manage several tasks at the same time.
  • Be able to use basic office software like Word, Excel and databases.
  • Work well with others and be willing to help your team, being flexible with requests.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and treating people fairly.

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.
