Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:50pm

Worker Type: Hybrid - a mixture of office and home working is to be expected

Salary: Starting salary is £32,597 (level 1) raising to £35,412 (level 4) per annum, plus a generous benefits package including a local government pension scheme, annual leave, and flexible working arrangements.

About The Role:

We are looking for a compassionate, customer-focused HomeLink Support Officer to join Nottingham City Council Housing Services within the Housing Options Team. This is a rewarding role supporting people who may face barriers to accessing social housing through the Nottingham HomeLink Choice Based Lettings scheme. You will provide advice, guidance and practical support to a diverse range of customers, including vulnerable households, care leavers and people experiencing health, welfare or housing challenges.

Working closely with applicants, partner agencies and housing providers, you will help assess housing need, support customers to complete applications and bids, and explore suitable housing options to achieve positive outcomes. The role involves undertaking home visits, assessing medical and social housing needs, preparing recommendations for rehousing priority, and ensuring customers receive tailored support to access services confidently and independently. You will also work with colleagues and external partners to safeguard vulnerable individuals, maintain accurate records, monitor outcomes and contribute to service improvement.

What we're looking for:

• Substantial experience of working within a housing management environment and an ability to learn
• A working knowledge and awareness and understanding of current housing issues and legislation, including in relation to Allocations, Tenancy Management and Welfare Benefits
• Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
• Demonstrating personal commitment to the equality, diversity and inclusion challenges faced by our workforce and Nottingham's people
• Ability to remain calm and able to make accurate and timely decisions whilst under pressure and to maintain control of challenging situations.
• Demonstrated capacity to effectively organise and use own initiative to prioritise workload to ensure that tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner, with minimum supervision
