Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm

Worker Type: Offsite Worker

Salary: Grade E - Starting Salary is £28,598 (Level one) rising to £31,022 (Level four)

Base Location: Harvey Road, NG8 3BB will be the base office for this role, but the postholder will be expected to spend the majority of their time across our independent living schemes across the City.

About the role:

As an Independent Living Coordinator with Nottingham City Council Housing Services, you'll play a key role in supporting tenants to live independently and thrive within their communities. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help create a welcoming and supportive environment that promotes wellbeing, social inclusion, and respect for individual privacy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing flexible, high-quality support to tenants
  • Coordinating activities that encourage independence
  • Liaising with health, social care, and community partners
  • Assisting with tenancy matters
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Responding promptly to calls and emergencies

This role requires adaptability, as you'll work across different locations and occasionally outside standard hours.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of managing a diverse workload, working in a fast moving, pressurised environment dealing with conflicting priorities to meet specific targets and deadlines
  • Experience of undertaking home visits to tenants ensuring their health and wellbeing by recognising and identifying the needs of individuals and, when appropriate, referral to and liaise with voluntary and statutory agencies and carers
  • Experience of maintaining tenant and scheme records, both manual and computerised including the creation, monitoring and review of Housing Related Support Plans
  • Ability to make accurate and timely decisions, often in pressurised situations and to act tactfully and with sensitivity and courtesy at all times
  • A proven ability to represent the service by developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external representatives and other bodies
  • Ability to develop and present written or verbal information in a clear and concise manner
