About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate leader to manage our Access & Resolutions Team within Nottingham City Council's Housing Services Access Team. In this pivotal role, you will develop and deliver effective strategies to secure lawful access to tenants' homes so essential safety checks and remedial works - such as gas servicing, electrical inspections, fire safety checks, asbestos re-inspections, and damp and mould investigations - are completed on time and in line with statutory requirements.

You will lead a dedicated team, setting clear objectives, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. A key part of the role is balancing firm, proportionate enforcement with a strong commitment to safeguarding, tenant wellbeing, and fair decision-making. You will ensure all cases are risk-assessed, consistently managed, and supported by accurate records and robust governance.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Housing Services, Legal Services, and Quality Assurance, you will help remove barriers to access, contribute to service-wide improvement, and represent the Council in formal settings where required. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to residents' safety, support vulnerable households, and strengthen the Council's compliance responsibilities.

About You

  • Experience of managing access resolution, compliance, or tenancy enforcement in a complex housing or regulatory environment.
  • Aware of and able to apply knowledge of landlord statutory responsibilities (Big 6, Building Safety, Damp & Mould, Disrepair).
  • Proven experience in tenancy enforcement, housing management, or compliance roles OR experience in safeguarding/wellbeing with a strong understanding of complex vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to be creative, to identify problems and work to create solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with QA teams, service delivery teams, Business Improvement & Performance Team, Legal Services, and safeguarding professionals.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage a challenging caseload.

Please submit both a copy of your CV and a supporting statement; in your supporting statement please ensure you demonstrate clearly how you meet the 6 requirements outlined above.
