- Driving the establishment and maturity of the new First Line Risk & Compliance function, ensuring clear roles, proactive engagement, and effective ways of working.
- Turning complex regulatory requirements into simple, practical guidance that helps the business operate safely without slowing it down.
- Championing a strong, consistent risk culture — supporting teams across the organisation to own their risks, strengthen controls and learn from issues.
- Leading insight-driven risk reporting that brings clarity, highlights themes, and strengthens governance.
- Guiding incident and issue management, ensuring high-quality root cause analysis and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Supporting major change and transformation programmes to ensure risks are understood early and managed well.
- Building trusted, collaborative relationships across the first and second lines to ensure alignment and confident decision-making.
About you:
- Strong knowledge of financial services regulatory requirements, with the ability to translate complex rules into practical, business-ready controls that genuinely help the business operate confidently and safely.
- Proven leadership experience — able to develop talent, shape a new team, and foster a positive, proactive risk culture rooted in partnership rather than policing.
- Outstanding stakeholder and relationship skills, with the credibility to influence senior leaders, coach teams, and build trusted, collaborative partnerships across the organisation.
- A strategic mindset with strong attention to detail, able to spot patterns, themes and emerging risks, then turn insights into actions teams can actually use.
- A calm, solutions-focused approach, especially during incidents or high-stakes decisions, bringing clarity and confidence to complex situations.
- Integrity, curiosity and a passion for growing risk capability, helping colleagues feel empowered, not burdened, by good risk and compliance practice.
Reward & Benefits:
- A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, Car Allowance, Medicash healthcare scheme, 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.

- A strong sustainability agenda – we’re continually finding new ways to be kinder to the environment by reducing our carbon footprint.
- We’re passionate about giving back to the communities in which we serve as well as supporting local charities as part of the Samuel Fox Foundation.
- Your health and wellbeing is our priority, we encourage this through a suite of support resources, including a team of trained mental health first aiders.
Embracing Diversity Together:
We proudly embrace and celebrate diversity as a fundamental cornerstone of our values. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace is not just essential for our success but is also a reflection of the vibrant communities we serve.
