At Nottingham Building Society our talent acquisition approach is rooted in openness and inclusive hiring, so even if you don’t feel you tick every box, we’d still genuinely love to hear from you.

We are looking for a data driven Portfolio Analyst to join our Portfolio Management Office and support the Senior Manager. You will play a key role in delivering clear insight across the change portfolio and improving how decisions are made.

This role combines demand management, portfolio reporting, benefits tracking and PMO analysis into one modern position. You will maintain accurate portfolio data, develop automated dashboards in JIRA and provide meaningful insight for governance forums.

Focusing on moving away from manual reporting, you will help create a more streamlined, data led approach that improves transparency, flow and decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio data and insight: Maintain accurate portfolio data, produce clear management information, and analyse trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to support decision making.
  • Automation and dashboards: Build and enhance automated dashboards in JIRA, ensuring consistent data capture while reducing reliance on manual reporting.
  • Demand and planning: Support demand intake, manage pipeline visibility, and assist with capacity and prioritisation to improve portfolio flow.
  • Benefits and value tracking: Capture, track, and report benefits from inception to realisation, maintaining clear views of forecast and delivered value.
  • Governance and assurance: Support governance through high quality data and analysis, carry out portfolio health checks, and uphold reporting standards.
  • Collaboration and continuous improvement: Partner with delivery, finance, and technology teams to provide insight and drive transparency and ongoing improvement across the PMO.

About You

  • Data and analytical expertise: Strong ability to work with complex data sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and meaningful insight.
  • Tools and portfolio knowledge: Hands on experience with JIRA and a solid understanding of portfolio, programme, and project management including governance and benefits tracking.
  • Insight and communication: Able to present complex information clearly and tailor messaging for different stakeholders.
  • Organisation and delivery: Structured and methodical approach to managing multiple priorities, data sources, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Portfolio and PMO experience: Proven experience supporting complex change portfolios, delivering reporting and insight for senior stakeholders, and improving processes through automation and standardisation.
  • Mindset and behaviours: Curious, detail focused, and collaborative, with confidence to challenge data, work through ambiguity, and build strong relationships across teams.

Reward & Benefits

  • Competitive Package: Fair salary benchmarked against market data, annual discretionary bonus, and 29 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Access to Medicash, mental health first aiders, and a suite of wellbeing resources to support you inside and outside of work.
  • Work-Life Balance: 35-hour working week for full-time roles, with flexibility to help you perform at your best.
  • Career Growth: Ongoing personal and professional development, we’ll support your ambitions and help you grow your potential.
  • Inclusive Culture: Be part of a friendly, values-led team that genuinely cares about doing the right thing for colleagues and customers.
  • Giving Back: Use two paid volunteering days each year to support causes close to your heart, through our Samuel Fox Foundation.
  • Sustainability Focus: Join a business committed to reducing its carbon footprint and making a positive impact on the environment.
  • Free access to Octopus Money: Financial coaching & tools that help you plan, manage, and make the most of your money.
