  • Manage Employee Relations: Oversee all ER activity, acting as the escalation point for complex cases and ensuring fair, timely resolutions.
  • Develop ER Capability: Coach the team on best practice and provide insightful management information on trends and risks.
  • Ensure Compliance: Drive the review and implementation of legislative changes, including supporting the organisation through the upcoming Employment Rights Bill.
  • Maintain Policies: Keep documentation, policies, and records accurate, modern, inclusive, and aligned with HR best practice and company values.
  • Enhance HR Systems: Ensure data integrity and support the development of workflows and new modules to improve automation and colleague experience.

About you:

  • HR Leadership: Proven experience leading HR teams and advisory functions across people operations, employee relations, and policy.
  • Employment Law Expertise: Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with extensive experience in ER case management.
  • Systems and Data Skills: Confident using HR platforms, influencing system design, and leveraging data for insight and decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Track record of simplifying HR processes, driving automation, and enhancing colleague experience.
  • Communication and Influence: Excellent written and verbal skills, able to translate complex information into clear, practical guidance.
  • Change and Collaboration: Skilled in leading change, building strong partnerships, and fostering an inclusive, people‑first culture.
  • Professional Credentials: CIPD qualification desirable, with curiosity, emotional intelligence, and a solutions‑focused mindset.

Competitive Package:

  • Fair salary benchmarked against market data, annual discretionary bonus, and 29 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Access to Medicash healthcare, mental health first aiders, and a suite of wellbeing resources to support you inside and outside of work.
  • Work-Life Balance: 35-hour working week for full‑time roles, with flexibility to help you perform at your best.
  • Career Growth: Ongoing personal and professional development, we’ll support your ambitions and help you grow your potential.
  • Inclusive Culture: Be part of a friendly, values‑led team that genuinely cares about doing the right thing for colleagues and customers.
  • Giving Back: Use two paid volunteering days each year to support causes close to your heart, through our Samuel Fox Foundation.
  • Sustainability Focus: Join a business committed to reducing its carbon footprint and making a positive impact on the environment.
  • Free access to Octopus Money: Financial coaching & tools that help you plan, manage, and make the most of your money.
