The EDI & Wellbeing Specialist plays an important role in delivering NHG's equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing priorities. The role supports the delivery of initiatives, events and campaigns that strengthen culture, embed inclusive practice and promote positive colleague wellbeing across NHG.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of EDI and wellbeing initiatives that build understanding, engagement and inclusion.
- Ensure events, campaigns and colleague‑led activity are well coordinated, impactful and aligned to NHG's values.
- Help turn engagement, EDI and wellbeing insights into practical actions that improve daily experience for colleagues.
- Support inclusive decision‑making by contributing to policy review and impact assessments.
- Enable colleague networks and wellbeing champions to contribute effectively and have their voices heard.
- Coordinate the delivery of NHG's EDI and wellbeing plans and activities that strengthen inclusion and colleague wellbeing.
- Promote EDI and wellbeing events, campaigns and awareness activity.
- Collaborate with colleague networks, mental‑health first aiders and community groups to support activity and capture insight.
- Source, design and deliver EDI and wellbeing initiatives, including learning sessions, materials and communications.
- Provide practical guidance and resources to support inclusive practice aligned to NHG's values.
- Support engagement and employee listening activity, gathering and interpreting insight that informs action.
- Analyse engagement and EDI data with the Head of EDI and Data & Insight colleagues, identifying themes.
- Communicate engagement and EDI findings, ensuring colleagues understand outcomes and next steps.
- Assist with policy review through an inclusion and wellbeing lens.
- Coordinate Diversity, Inclusion and Impact Assessments (DIIAs) to identify and address potential impacts.
- Track and maintain compliance with organisational EDI and wellbeing expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by gathering feedback and evidence to inform future priorities.
- Ensure EDI and wellbeing activity is aligned with wider People Development priorities, delivering a consistent colleague experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing activity within a complex organisation.
- Experience coordinating events, campaigns or engagement activity.
- Ability to use data, feedback and insight to help shape recommendations and support action planning.
- Experience working with colleague networks, community groups or similar forums.
- Strong relationship‑building skills, with confidence engaging colleagues at all levels.
- Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to translate insight into practical actions.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong personal commitment to fairness, inclusion, wellbeing and positive colleague experience.
- Relevant experience in EDI, wellbeing, HR, organisational development or a related discipline.
- CIPD or equivalent experience desirable but not essential (or willingness to work towards this).
