As a Lead Analyst – Financial Planning, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s medium- and long-term financial strategy. Working closely with the Senior Financial Planning Manager, you will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of robust financial plans that underpin the organisation’s long-term financial sustainability and growth. You’ll provide high-quality financial insight, modelling, and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making, helping senior leaders understand the long-term implications of financial choices in an increasingly complex operating environment. How you’ll do it:
- Support the development and ongoing maintenance of medium- and long-term financial plans for complex areas of the business, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Update, refine, and enhance long-term financial models to reflect changing market conditions, risks, and organisational priorities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to integrate financial planning with wider business and strategic planning processes.
- Use financial analysis, scenario modelling, and stress testing to assess long-term risks, opportunities, and mitigations.
- Provide clear, insightful financial analysis and commentary to inform senior management and strategic decision-making.
- Support risk assessments and opportunity analysis linked to long-term financial strategies.
- Work closely with the Senior Financial Planning Manager to ensure a consistent and unified approach to financial planning.
- Support the Financial Planning Analyst and deputise for the Senior Financial Planning Manager when required.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful long-term financial analysis and forecasts.
- Contribute to strategic planning cycles through high-quality financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Maintain strong working relationships across Finance and the wider organisation to support joined-up planning.
- Support continuous improvement in financial planning processes, tools, and capability.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, learning, and analytical excellence within the team.
The ideal candidate:

Essential:
- CCAB-recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with experience supporting strategic decision-making.
- Experience working with multiple business areas to coordinate and centralise planning activity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Advanced Excel skills and a willingness to develop skills in D365 and Power BI.
- Evidence of building effective working relationships within Finance and across wider stakeholders.
- Understanding of operational and tactical decision-making within a complex organisation.
Desirable:
- Experience using Brixx or similar long-term financial planning tools.
Hybrid arrangements: at least two days a week in an office. On other days, working from home may be possible, depending on the work needed and the interaction required.
