As the Director of Housing, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all housing-related services across NHG's general needs and supported housing portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, you will lead the delivery of customer-focused housing management, lettings, safeguarding, and anti-social behaviour services.

You will play a key role in implementing NHG's Resident First Target Operating Model, ensuring services are responsive, data-informed, locally connected, and tailored to resident needs rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach. You will drive improved performance, regulatory compliance, resident satisfaction, and operational efficiency while ensuring vulnerable residents receive targeted and effective support.

How you'll do it

  • Lead the development and delivery of a modern, resident-focused housing management service
  • Implement and embed the Resident First Target Operating Model across housing services
  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation, consumer standards, safeguarding requirements, and health & safety regulations
  • Oversee housing management, ASB interventions, tenancy fraud prevention, and lettings performance
  • Drive efficient lettings processes to minimise void loss and maximise occupancy
  • Lead safeguarding arrangements and ensure robust policies and procedures are in place
  • Use data insight, resident segmentation, and personas to tailor service delivery and improve customer outcomes
  • Build strong partnerships with local authorities, police, health services, councillors, MPs, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure an effective out-of-hours service is in place to respond to incidents outside core hours
  • Represent NHG externally and advocate for residents where appropriate

We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our thriving organisation. Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
