As a not-for-profit housing organisation providing more affordable homes for Londoners, we're looking for people to join us as building managers, new roles created as part of a refresh of our operations team to ensure we're set up in the best way to deliver the things that matter most to our residents.

As a building manager, you'll collaborate closely with housing officer colleagues for specific locations to provide an excellent customer service and be accountable to residents. Specific duties will include:

  • Ensure communal areas and estates are well-maintained and aligned with residents' expectations
  • Be accountable to residents, ensuring buildings are safe, well-maintained, and service charges are fair and transparent
  • Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a good knowledge of buildings and service charges
  • Implement strategies to enhance the safety and aesthetic appeal of communal areas
  • Play a key role in resolving disputes or complaints related to communal spaces and estates

The Ideal Candidate:

You'll be proactive and customer-focused, with good spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences. Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation that you study towards a professional qualification.

Essential:

  • Experience in a Customer Service environment
  • Owning customer requests/enquiries through to completion
  • Willingness to learn property management if you have no prior experience

Desirable:

  • A solid understanding of buildings, service charges, and communal area management
