As Governance Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative and coordination support to the Governance Team, helping to ensure Board and Committee activity runs smoothly and efficiently. What you'll do

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Director of Governance and Compliance, the Governance Team, and NHG's Group Board and Committees.
  • Support the planning and delivery of Board and committee meetings, including agenda preparation and collation of papers using Decision Time.
  • Assist with accommodation, travel and catering arrangements for meetings and events.
  • Lead on the sealing of documents in line with governance procedures, maintaining accurate records (training provided).
  • Monitor the Governance mailbox, ensuring queries are handled professionally and escalated where appropriate.
  • File statutory returns with external bodies such as Companies House and the FCA, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Provide day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to the Director of Governance and Compliance and the wider Governance Team.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure compliance with GDPR and NHG policies.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
  • Previous administrative or secretarial experience, including meeting coordination and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
