Salary: £65,782 to £73,091 per annum for 35 hours per week.

What you’ll do

As the Finance Manager – Building Safety, you will lead the financial partnership between the Finance team and our Building Safety programme. Working closely with the Head of Asset Business Partnering and senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will ensure that building safety initiatives are supported by robust financial planning, insight, and governance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial management of building safety programmes is effective, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities. By providing clear financial analysis, strategic advice, and strong financial controls, you will help ensure that vital safety investment delivers the best outcomes for residents and the organisation. You’ll also support a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus across Finance and operational teams.

How you’ll do it

  • Support the Head of Asset Business Partnering in overseeing the financial implications of the Group’s Building Safety programmes.
  • Provide strategic financial business partnering to Building Safety and Asset teams, offering insight and challenge to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead accurate and timely financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for building safety initiatives and related investment programmes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tracking frameworks to monitor project performance and ensure programmes deliver against their financial objectives.
  • Deliver high‑quality financial analysis and reporting that identifies risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management focus.
  • Ensure building safety costs and recoveries are accounted for accurately and in compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
  • Maintain and analyse complex financial datasets using Excel and internal systems to support robust decision‑making.
  • Support appraisal and evaluation processes for strategic investment projects, ensuring sound financial assumptions and value for money.
  • Implement and maintain strong financial controls and processes to manage emerging opportunities, risks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and develop finance business partners, supporting their professional development and building a high‑performing team culture.

The ideal candidate

If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.

  • Fully qualified CCAB accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent) with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Significant experience of finance business partnering, providing financial expertise and constructive challenge to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence at different organisational levels.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting operational and project activities through financial insight and analysis.
  • Strong analytical capability, including experience working with large and complex datasets to support decision‑making.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with experience using financial systems and reporting tools (knowledge of D365 and Power BI is desirable).
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members and supporting their development.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to professional integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge or experience of building safety regulations and accounting practices is desirable.
