Notting Hill Genesis, one of London's largest housing associations, is seeking a Compliance Assistant to join our thriving Operations team. As an EMA Compliance Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping us maintain safe, compliant homes across our externally managed portfolio. Working closely with External Managing Agents (EMAs), Property Managers and Housing Officers, you'll support the management of essential property compliance activities, making sure key safety actions and documentation are completed accurately and on time. Through your work, you'll help ensure statutory requirements are met, compliance records are kept up to date, and residents can feel confident that their homes are safe and well managed. The EMA Compliance Assistant role is central to improving service reliability, strengthening customer trust and supporting high standards across our properties.

How you'll do it:

  • Support the delivery of compliance requirements across properties managed by External Managing Agents.
  • Monitor compliance status using internal systems, ensuring documentation such as gas safety certificates and water risk assessments is obtained, recorded and uploaded correctly.
  • Track and follow up Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions, ensuring completion within required timescales.
  • Work towards agreed compliance KPIs and performance measures, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Carry out periodic site visits to check compliance with fire, health and safety requirements.
  • Liaise regularly with EMAs by phone and email to resolve outstanding actions and respond to compliance‑related queries.
  • Provide day‑to‑day compliance support to Property Managers and Housing Officers, adapting to service needs where required.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience providing customer‑focused support and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage workload independently and prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in record‑keeping.
  • Comfortable speaking with external partners by phone to follow up on compliance matters.
  • Ability to problem‑solve and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Property management background - Understanding of housing management, property compliance and safety.
