You will play a vital role in ensuring our homes are safe, well‑maintained, and meet the highest standards. You will be the trusted NHG presence on the ground, carrying out inspections, monitoring contractor performance, and making sure repairs are completed quickly and to a high standard. This role is all about fixing failures fast, putting residents at the heart of what we do, and helping us deliver on our commitment to the perfect journey.

How you'll do it:

  • Carry out pre‑ and post‑inspections for responsive repairs, planned works, and cyclical referrals.
  • Provide clear technical diagnoses and recommendations for repair works.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and NHG's code of conduct.
  • Manage post‑inspection regimes and oversee repair order variations to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Contribute to stock condition surveys and support the development of repair monitoring systems.
  • Act as a resident champion, ensuring feedback is acted on and service improvements are made.
  • Attend contractor meetings and support operational risk management across the directorate.

Essential:

  • Experience working within the repairs sector, including pre‑ and post‑audits and inspections.
  • Strong technical skills in diagnosing repairs, writing specifications, and managing schedules of work.
  • Proven experience in contractor management.
  • Experience of writing and disseminating technical reports.
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

Desirable:

  • DEA/FRA assessor trained.
  • Recognised HND technical qualification (e.g., building surveying) or membership of CIOB.
