What you'll do

As a Lease and Equity Specialist, you'll be the conveyancing expert within our Resales and Equity Progression team, providing specialist advice on a wide range of leasehold and Low-Cost Home Ownership matters.

You'll manage complex transactions relating to Shared Ownership, lease extensions, enfranchisement, Right to Buy, Right to Acquire, equity loans and retirement sales, ensuring customers receive an outstanding service throughout their journey.

The Lease and Equity Specialist plays a key role in unlocking complex cases, resolving conveyancing challenges and supporting colleagues with specialist guidance on legal and leasehold matters.

You'll drive successful property transactions, generate income for reinvestment into our homes and communities, and ensure compliance with evolving leasehold legislation and regulatory requirements.

  • How you'll do it
  • Act as the conveyancing specialist within the Resales and Equity Progression team, providing expert advice and acting as a single point of contact for customers.
  • Manage complex lease extension matters across both voluntary and statutory routes, including enfranchisement, lease variations and other specialist leasehold transactions.
  • Lead on Right to Buy and Right to Acquire applications, assessing eligibility and ensuring transactions are progressed in line with legislation and policy requirements.
  • Support colleagues with complex conveyancing queries, providing escalation support, specialist advice and training across the wider organisation.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, solicitors, valuers and other stakeholders to progress transactions efficiently and overcome barriers to completion.
  • Drive income through staircasing, lease extensions, enfranchisement, loft conversions and loan redemption activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.

Essential

  • Strong experience managing conveyancing transactions and complex leasehold matters within a customer-focused environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of conveyancing and Low-Cost Home Ownership products, particularly Shared Ownership.
  • Excellent understanding of Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and associated eligibility assessment processes.
  • Significant experience of lease extensions, enfranchisement and other complex leasehold transactions.
  • Strong understanding of leasehold legislation and regulatory changes affecting the sector.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex leases and communicate technical information clearly to a range of audiences.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a housing association or affordable housing environment.
