We are integral to delivering high quality, efficient and compliant HR services, supporting a positive, values-led colleague and candidate experience across the organisation. The HR and Onboarding Officer plays a key role in delivering this. As part of a customer‑focused HR service, you will ensure colleagues and candidates experience a smooth, professional and compliant journey, for the whole employee lifecycle.

What the role is all about

You do not need housing sector experience to succeed. What matters most is your ability to deliver high‑quality HR support, provide clear and accurate advice, and manage processes efficiently with strong attention to detail: including recruitment administration, onboarding, first‑line advice and core HR processes.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Providing clear and practical HR advice that supports managers to make informed decisions
  • Supporting compliance with statutory and organisational requirements across all HR activities

How you’ll do it

  • Deliver end‑to‑end onboarding processes, ensuring candidates are set up for success from day one
  • Support recruitment activity and work closely with talent acquisition and induction teams to meet business needs
  • Ensure all pre‑employment checks (e.g. DBS, Right to Work, visa sponsorship and other statutory requirements) are completed accurately and on time
  • Provide first‑line HR advice and support to managers and colleagues, resolving queries efficiently and effectively
  • Manage a range of lower‑level HR casework, applying sound judgement and ensuring consistency
  • Produce clear, accurate correspondence and maintain high‑quality HR records and data
  • Support organisational change activities, audits and compliance requirements

The ideal candidate

  • Experience of working in a HR function, delivering administrative and advisory support
  • Proven ability to deliver a high‑quality onboarding and recruitment administration process
  • Experience providing clear and accurate HR advice to managers and colleagues
  • Good understanding of employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities without compromising quality
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly and professionally
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance

Desirable: CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards it

Hybrid arrangements – currently at least three days a week in our main office but more may be needed depending on work and interactions required.
