What you’ll do:

At the ATO, we want to make it easier for the community to do the right thing. As a Law graduate, you’ll get to work with industry leaders in developing taxation and superannuation policies and legislation to guide Australians in their tax obligations. You’ll get the opportunity to work collaboratively with a dedicated team in conducting research and analysis to provide advice. Our Law graduates get to develop their skills within an area of specialisation based on policy and legislation.

You could:

  • assist with the delivery of non-tax legal and dispute resolution services through the provision of procedural, operational and legal support
  • analyse, interpret and apply legislation, policies, practices and precedents in the resolution of legal matters; under the direction of more senior employees or escalating cases where appropriate
  • assist with managing disputes in a range of jurisdictions on behalf of the ATO in relation to non-tax legal matters.

Who can apply:

To be eligible to apply, you must have completed your university degree within the last five years or be in your final year of study. At the time of commencing our program, you must have completed all your course requirements. The program starts in February 2027. You must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo police, character and health checks as required.
