The Role

At Notpla, we're at the forefront of sustainable innovation, creating natural alternatives to single-use plastic packaging that are carefully engineered to help build a healthier planet. Founded on the belief that nature is our North Star, we're an innovative, action-oriented scale-up developing and manufacturing uncompromisingly natural packaging solutions from seaweed and plants. We are looking for a Marketing Intern to join our Marketing & Communications team for a fixed term of up to 6 months.

As a Marketing Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience across digital marketing, content creation and campaign delivery, supporting the team to bring our brand to life across multiple channels. You'll work closely with marketers, designers and commercial teams to support the creation of engaging content, maintain our digital presence and help deliver campaigns that drive awareness of Notpla and our mission.

Our office-first working culture promotes a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere while maximising productivity. We're a social business with regular clubs and events, and we're proud of how our diverse, mission-driven community works together to make plastic disappear.

As a Marketing Intern, you'll support a wide variety of marketing activities, from supporting the creation of social content and updating the website to researching trends and supporting integrated campaigns. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop practical marketing experience in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where curiosity, creativity and initiative are encouraged.

To succeed in this role, you'll be organised, proactive and eager to learn. You'll enjoy content creation, keeping up with digital trends and finding new ways to engage audiences. An interest in AI tools, sustainability and modern marketing will help you thrive as part of a collaborative and ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content & Social: Support the day-to-day execution of the social media content calendar across key channels. Schedule, publish and optimise content to ensure campaigns go live on time and perform well. Proactively suggest new content ideas, creative formats and social trends to test. Support monthly reporting on content performance, identifying key insights and recommendations.
  • Website & Content Marketing: Upload and publish blog articles, case studies and news stories using the website CMS. Update landing pages, product pages and campaign content to ensure information remains accurate and engaging. Support SEO improvements through content optimisation and basic keyword research.
  • AI & Content Research: Use AI tools to generate and test social media hooks, headlines and content variations. Research industry trends, competitor activity and emerging content formats to inspire future campaigns. Bring fresh, culturally relevant ideas to the marketing team each week.
  • Campaign & Marketing Support: Support the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across social media, web and email. Assist in creating marketing assets for events, product launches and customer communications. Help coordinate marketing calendars and keep projects on track. Contribute to campaign reporting, presentation decks and internal marketing documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Studying towards, or recently completed, a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related subject, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • An interest in AI tools and how they can support creative and marketing workflows.
  • Curious self-starter keen to learn in a fast-moving environment.
  • Passionate about sustainability and excited by Notpla's mission.

This role is classified as a Solicited Intern position under Notpla's Internship Policy. Compensation is paid via PAYE based on the UK National Living wage: £12.71 per hour for individuals aged 21 and over, and £10.85 per hour for 18-20 year olds.
