At Notpla, we’re at the forefront of sustainable innovation, creating natural alternatives to single‑use plastic packaging that are carefully engineered to help build a healthier planet. Founded on the belief that nature knows best, we’re an innovative, action‑oriented scale‑up developing and manufacturing uncompromisingly natural packaging solutions from seaweed and plants.

We’re looking for an AI Native Graphic Designer who can elevate how Notpla shows up across every touchpoint, while also redefining how creative work is produced. This is not a production‑only role. We want someone who can think, shape and execute—combining strong design fundamentals with the ability to build, experiment with, and deploy AI‑powered creative workflows. You’ll bring ideas to life across campaigns, storytelling, sales enablement and brand moments, while also developing systems, prompts and tools that scale high‑quality creative output.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing and commercial teams, you’ll help translate complex sustainability and materials innovation into compelling visual communication—both through crafted design and intelligent automation. This is an exciting time to join Notpla— we’re on the brink of a record‑breaking year for revenue and on track for major growth in the next 18–24 months. To support this, we have just secured a £20 million Series A+ fundraise, enabling us to scale our growth and environmental impact faster than ever.

Beyond offering meaningful roles and a vibrant working environment, Notpla provides competitive compensation, including EMI Share Options, a zero‑carbon pension scheme, discounts with local businesses, and subsidised social activities. Our office‑first hybrid working policy lets you work in the way that maximises your productivity while maintaining a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere. We’re a social business with regular clubs and events, and we’re proud of how our diverse, mission‑driven community works together to make plastic disappear.

As an AI Native Graphic Designer, you’ll collaborate closely with a junior designer, supporting creative direction and hands‑on guidance to strengthen and evolve Notpla’s visual identity across channels. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in embedding AI into the creative process—developing tools, prompt systems and workflows that increase speed, consistency and creative exploration. This is a rare chance to join a fast‑scaling, award‑winning, mission‑led company and shape not only its visual identity, but how that identity is produced at scale.

Working within our creatively driven marketing team, you will bring experience across brand, communication or graphic design, alongside a curiosity and capability in AI‑assisted creation. You’ll have a strong portfolio spanning brand, campaigns and commercial work, with the ability to move between conceptual and executional design. You should be confident designing for both digital and physical outputs, with strong typography and layout fundamentals, while also exploring how generative tools can enhance and extend these outputs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience with Claude Design, Freepik or similar multimodal generative AI tools.
  • Design bold, high‑impact campaign assets across digital, social and events.
  • Translate strategy into clear, memorable visual storytelling.
  • Help evolve Notpla’s brand world as we scale globally.
  • Create sales materials that win business (pitch decks, one‑pagers, toolkits).
  • Build assets that support distributors, partners and ingredient branding.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to bring clarity and polish to complex propositions.
  • Develop and maintain AI‑driven workflows for generating and iterating creative assets.
  • Build prompt libraries, templates and systems to scale brand‑consistent outputs.
  • Experiment with generative tools (image, video, layout, copy) to accelerate concept development.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive design tasks without compromising quality.
  • Train and support the wider team in using AI tools effectively and responsibly.
  • Design social‑first storytelling (carousels, launches, thought leadership).
  • Support product launches and innovation narratives.
  • Bring personality and humanity into the brand.
  • Support trade shows, activations and experiential moments.
  • Create standout visual presence across real‑world environments.
  • Maintain and evolve visual consistency across channels.
  • Contribute to evolving our brand guidelines and creative direction.
  • Help raise the overall creative bar at Notpla.
