Job Description
Climax Studios is one of the creative leaders in independent video game development, with an exceptional line of standout titles published. The studio provides an exciting and inspiring work environment in the centre of Edinburgh, overlooking the iconic castle. An experienced Motion Capture Animator is sought to join the team. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and sensitivity to what works in gameplay, proven experience in Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), as well as extensive technical knowledge in Motionbuilder, Maya, and handling mocap data.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of animation principles
- Technical competence and comprehensive understanding of animation processes
- Ability to receive and act on feedback
- Experience in implementing motion capture data
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Ability to meet tight deadlines when necessary
- University degree, related qualification, or equivalent experience in Animation
- Strong portfolio including examples of realistic animation
- Experience in iterative development and rapid prototyping of gameplay
- Current experience in console development
Responsibilities
- Detailed cleaning of mocap assets
- Critique and iteration within multidisciplinary groups
- Follow and recreate established artistic styles
- Demonstrate reliability and aptitude for platform technology, asset discipline, and pipeline processes
