Test Technician

Newbury

Starting at £35,000 Per Annum

Our long-established client based in Newbury is seeking a Test Technician to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well-respected company.

Test Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual inspections of electronic components
  • Measure capacitance and resistance using an LCR meter
  • Conduct X-ray analysis to examine internal structures
  • Assess solderability of terminals and component leads
  • Use XRF (X-ray fluorescence) to determine material composition
  • Carry out chemical and thermal decapsulation processes
  • Perform functional testing at the component level

Test Technician Ideal Candidate:

  • Solid understanding of electronics
  • A qualification in Electronics Engineering (BTEC, ONC, HNC, C&G, Apprenticeship, or equivalent)
  • Quality-focused and capable of working in a cleanroom environment
  • High attention to detail and strong reliability
  • Proficient written English with the ability to produce accurate test reports
  • Familiarity with standards such as AS6081, AS6171, ISO17025, and IDEA 1010B is advantageous but not essential

Test Technician Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00
  • Friday 08:30 – 16:00
  • Pension scheme: the employee typically puts in 5% and the company will contribute 3%
  • Medicash
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holiday
  • This holiday allowance will increase after 8 years of service with another day added on from the 9th year for 5 years up to maximum of 30 days holiday
  • Both pizza and breakfast are provided by the company once a month
