Russell Taylor is partnering with a global testing company that is looking to expand their analytical team/s at their modern state‑of‑the‑art UKAS testing facility. They are looking for two analysts for their Gas Chromatography and Liquid Chromatography teams.

Role

  • Either LC/MS or GC/MS analysis:
  • Technical LC-MS expertise: Hands‑on experience operating single and triple quadrupole LC-MS instrumentation (including ESI/APCI), alongside routine maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Confident operation of GC-MS instrumentation, including routine maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting to maintain uptime and data quality.
  • Analytical workflow execution: Skilled in sample preparation techniques such as LLE, SPE, and QuEChERS, with experience in trace‑level organic analysis and strict adherence to established SOPs and quality control procedures.
  • Data analysis and reporting: Proficient in processing chromatographic and mass spectral data, conducting quality control checks, and producing clear, accurate reports for stakeholders.
  • Method development and problem solving: Experience in developing and optimising analytical methods for emerging or priority compounds, with adaptability to evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborative operations: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including laboratory staff and project personnel, to meet workflow targets and delivery timelines.

The Person

  • Will ideally hold a degree in a relevant Scientific/ STEM (Chemistry biased) field or significant experience in a UKAS testing laboratory function.
  • Experienced in using either GC/MS and/or LC/MS instruments (troubleshooting, maintenance experience) in an accredited setting (UKAS, GLP, chemical etc).
