The Role: We’re looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our growing business. Working closely with the Finance, Product, Brand, Customer Experience, Marketing and Operational teams, this role plays a pivotal part in supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering actionable insights into customer behaviour, trends, and performance, as well as supporting forecasting and commercial planning activities. You will analyse a wide range of data sources to identify opportunities for revenue growth, improved performance, and greater efficiency, while also interrogating key drivers that impact commercial outcomes. By translating complex data into clear, meaningful insights, you will help stakeholders understand performance, challenge assumptions, and make informed strategic decisions. This role offers the opportunity to influence commercial strategy and contribute directly to the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial and Strategic Analysis: analysing revenue, margins, costs, and profitability by product, customer, channel, or region. Supporting pricing, promotions, and discount strategy through data modelling. Identifying growth opportunities and risks and supporting go-to-market and commercial strategy decisions.
- Commercial Reporting: providing insights and recommendations to leadership alongside liaising with our data platform team to improve reports / insights for the business.
- Stakeholder Support: partnering with sales, marketing, finance, operations, and leadership teams. Translating business questions into analytical solutions. Present insights clearly to stakeholders and support commercial negotiations with data-backed insights.
- Financial and Business Modelling: new services and products, pricing scenarios, investment and expansion opportunities alongside conducting scenario, sensitivity, and break-even analysis.
- Market and Competitor Analysis: analysing market trends, competitors, and customer behaviour. Supporting product, pricing, and positioning decisions and providing insights into customer profitability and segmentation.
About You:
- Experience within an analytical role, across e-commerce, digital, commercial, or trading environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics and Power BI.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to deliver clear, honest insights and opinions.
- Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and confidently select appropriate analytical tools.
- High level of commercial acumen, with the ability to interrogate data and challenge assumptions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
