Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and personable Sales Kitchen & Furniture Designer to join our team. This client-facing role focuses on understanding client needs, designing bespoke kitchens and fitted furniture, and guiding clients through the design and sales processfrom initial consultation to signed-off design. A passion for high-quality design, excellent communication, and commercial awareness is essential. Knowledge of Sketchup is beneficial for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Design Briefing
- Meet prospective clients and understand their needs, lifestyle, and space requirements. This may be at our workshop/studio or at their home.
- Develop and present creative kitchen and furniture concepts tailored to individual clients.
- Provide confident guidance and design advice while listening to client feedback and expectations.
- Build lasting client relationships grounded in trust, design expertise, and service.
Sales Process & Project Conversion
- Prepare compelling design presentations that communicate the Notch Studio ethos.
- Present quotes, budgets, and material options clearly and transparently.
- Follow up effectively and manage your pipeline to convert enquiries into confirmed projects.
- Guide clients through the design sign-off process with professionalism and efficiency.
Design Development
- Create thoughtful and beautiful concept designs or mood boards that reflect client vision and the Notchs aesthetic.
- Liaise closely with the internal design team to ensure feasibility and alignment with production requirements.
- Ensure design documentation is clear and accurate for internal handover.
Team Collaboration & Handover
- Coordinate with Project Manager and Head of Design to ensure a smooth transition from signed-off design to production.
- Keep the team informed of pipeline status and upcoming project timelines.
Client Experience & Notch Standards
- Ensure that every client interaction reflects the Notch Studio brand and service ethos.
- Maintain a warm, consultative, and professional presence at all times.
- Build long lasting positive relationships with direct clients, interior designer and architects.
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in kitchen design, fitted furniture sales, or interior design (ideally in the high-end residential sector)
- A strong visual eye and ability to communicate ideas through sketch, CAD or moodboards.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- Confidence in guiding clients through layout, finish, and functional choices
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and commercially aware
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
- Full UK driving license (required)
