We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Programme Manager to lead vital wellbeing and welfare services supporting people affected by cancer across Yorkshire.
Salary: £43,000 FTE (Actual salary £24,205)
Location: Bradford with hybrid working and travel across Yorkshire
Hours: Part time – 21 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to join a values driven charity supporting people affected by cancer. As Programme Manager, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, leading Welfare Advice and Wellbeing services and helping shape the future direction of the organisation.
You will oversee day to day service delivery, ensuring services remain safe, effective and person centred while meeting funding and contractual requirements. The role combines operational management, team leadership, safeguarding oversight and partnership working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting Welfare Advice and Wellbeing teams
- Managing service quality, safeguarding, risk and complaints processes
- Monitoring performance, outcomes and reporting requirements
- Supporting staff development, wellbeing and positive team culture
- Managing service budgets and resources effectively
- Building relationships with funders, commissioners and partner organisations
- Supporting service development and funding opportunities
- Working closely with senior colleagues to improve services and support organisational growth
The role is mainly based in Bradford with hybrid working available. Some travel to Skipton and partner meetings will be required, alongside occasional evening or weekend work.
About You
You will be an experienced manager from the charity, community, advice or wellbeing sector, with a strong understanding of service delivery and people leadership.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience leading small teams within community, advice or wellbeing services
- Strong safeguarding and risk management knowledge
- Experience improving services and managing performance
- Confidence managing staff performance, supervision and development
- Experience managing budgets and working with funding requirements
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills
- Good IT and reporting skills
- A collaborative and supportive leadership style
- Experience within welfare rights, health services or cancer support would be an advantage.
